If we detect mold, we isolate trouble points with polyurethane sheeting and seal off the area to mitigate cross-contamination. Then, we initiate mold testing.

Testing

While we are certainly capable of mold testing, we outsource this part of the process. Why? Because we believe trust must be earned. It would be a conflict of interest for us to both test and remediate. If the test returns positive, we begin work.

Removal

At this stage, we begin removing all visible mold growth using specialized equipment like air filtration systems, commercial dehumidifiers, and powerful antimicrobial agents. Rest assured, our trained mold remediation technicians follow strict safety protocols to protect themselves, your family, and your property during this process.

Cleaning

After removing the mold, we thoroughly clean and disinfect the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining mold spores. This includes cleaning walls, floors, ceilings, and any other surfaces that may have been affected by the mold growth.

Mold Remediation: Dos and Dont’s

Do

• Address leaks immediately
• Monitor humidity levels. If possible, keep indoor humidity between 30% to 50% to prevent growth
• Turn off your HVAC system to prevent the spread of mold spores, reduce moisture circulation, and prevent system contamination
• Call a RenewPro mold inspection specialist. Many home testing kits are inaccurate or do not provide a complete picture of the problem

Don’t

• Attempt to remove mold or disturb it
• Use bleach to kill mold. It cannot penetrate porous surfaces like drywall or wood. Bleach will only kill the mold on the surface while allowing roots to remain intact
• Cover up mold with paint. This does not address the underlying issue
• Ignore your suspicions or instincts. Just because you cannot see mold does not mean it isn’t there. Mold is elusive and can often hide in walls, under carpets, or in other inaccessible areas
