Property Damage Restoration: What to Expect from Start to Finish

Twenty years of experience have shown us how disruptive and overwhelming it can be when a natural disaster, mold, fire, or biohazard incident destroys your home or commercial property.

And when it happens, you want clarity and support from property damage restoration experts who are transparent, good at what they do, and keep you informed throughout the process. That’s what we offer.

Here’s what you can expect from our disaster restoration experts.

Inspection

Every project begins with a comprehensive property assessment. Many people don't realize that damage, whether caused by water, mold, or fire, is often insidious.

What may seem like a minor kitchen fire could leave behind hidden soot and char that, without proper remediation, could cause structural damage or leave behind lingering odors.

The same applies to water and mold. Often, the extent of the damage is not fully visible and will only reveal itself later—which will cost more money in the long run.

We don't believe in upselling or padding invoices with unnecessary demolition services. But we do believe in serving your best interests. That means being thorough from the outset of the disaster restoration project.

Insurance Assistance

While you must initiate contact with your insurance provider and notify them of the disaster, we work hard to streamline this process. Once notified, we'll send your provider a detailed assessment of the damage, photographs, and our restoration plan.

We aim for you to focus on your family and health—not paperwork and a barrage of phone calls. We work directly with your insurance adjuster to process your claim quickly and ensure you receive the maximum benefits allowed under your policy.

Cleanup & Mitigation

We get to work once you and your insurance provider approve the restoration cleanup plan. We begin by clearing the area of debris and safely disposing of unsalvageable items. Rescuable items will be moved to a climate-controlled location for restoration.

Next, we:

  • Dry affected areas—this is critical, as standing water left behind after fires, floods, and plumbing disasters can cause mold growth and additional structural damage
  • Secure any compromised entry points, if necessary
  • Contain the damage, ensuring it does not spread to other unaffected areas of the property

Restoration

The restoration process varies depending on the nature of the disaster.

Water Damage

Once we remove debris and salvageable items and thoroughly dry the area, our disaster restoration experts sanitize and deodorize the space to prevent mold growth. Next, we will replace any damaged materials, including flooring and drywall, bringing your property back to its pre-damaged condition.

Mold Remediation

Even if we suspect mold, we always test using a neutral third-party vendor. Surprisingly, not all restoration cleanup companies do this. We take this approach because we believe trust must be earned. To us, handling testing and remediation would be a conflict of interest. If the test returns positive, we remove it and disinfect the surrounding areas using EPA-approved chemicals that kill lingering spores. After reinspecting, we then rebuild.

Fire

We remove soot and char and then neutralize any lingering odors by “scrubbing the air.” Every situation is unique, but we often rely on portable filtration systems and ozone machines that break down odor-causing compounds. Once complete, we begin the rebuilding process.

Biohazards

Whether remediating a trauma site or a basement overrun with sewage, we begin by removing surface contamination like bodily fluids and hazardous materials from primary contamination zones (floors, walls, etc.). This is critical to prevent the spread of contaminants and bloodborne pathogens. Next, we neutralize the area using CDC-approved disinfectants and deodorizing agents from secondary contamination zones like molding, vents, and fixtures. Finally, we safely dispose of biohazardous waste and begin restoration reconstruction work.
